Terms of Service
Last updated: September 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) apply to the restaurant reservation assistance service provided by Call Japan (“Call Japan,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By submitting a reservation request and using our service, you agree to these Terms.
1. About Call Japan
Call Japan provides restaurant reservation assistance for international visitors to Japan. Customers select the restaurant they wish to visit, and Call Japan contacts the selected restaurant in Japanese on the customer’s behalf to request a reservation.
Call Japan is an independent reservation assistance service and is not affiliated with, employed by, or acting as an agent of any restaurant unless explicitly stated otherwise.
2. Service Scope
One service request covers reservation assistance for one restaurant only.
Our service may include:
- Contacting the selected restaurant in Japanese
- Communicating the requested reservation date, time and party size
- Communicating reasonable seating or dietary requests
- Confirming restaurant availability
- Communicating the reservation result to the customer in English
The service does not include restaurant recommendations, restaurant searches, itinerary planning, in-person assistance, payment of restaurant deposits or meal charges, or any guarantee that a reservation will be secured.
3. Service Fee
The Call Japan service fee is JPY 1,000 per restaurant reservation request.
The service fee is charged for our reservation assistance and the work involved in contacting the selected restaurant. It is not a restaurant deposit, meal payment, or reservation guarantee.
If a customer would like Call Japan to contact another restaurant, a new request and service fee will be required.
4. Reservation Requests
Customers are responsible for providing accurate and complete information, including the restaurant, reservation date and time, party size, reservation name and any relevant special requests.
Call Japan is not responsible for problems caused by incorrect, incomplete, or outdated information provided by the customer.
Submitting a request to Call Japan does not mean that the restaurant reservation has been confirmed. A reservation is confirmed only after Call Japan receives confirmation from the restaurant and communicates that confirmation to the customer.
5. Reservation Availability
Call Japan does not control restaurant availability or reservation policies. Restaurants may refuse or be unable to accept a reservation due to full capacity, closure, reservation restrictions, party-size rules, private events, the restaurant being unreachable, or other circumstances determined by the restaurant. Call Japan cannot guarantee that any reservation request will be successful.
6. Unable to Reach a Restaurant
If a restaurant cannot be reached, Call Japan may make multiple reasonable attempts to contact the restaurant. If we are unable to reach the restaurant after reasonable attempts, the reservation will remain unconfirmed.
The service is considered provided once Call Japan has made reasonable efforts to contact the selected restaurant and has communicated the result to the customer.
7. Changes and Cancellations
If a customer wishes to change or cancel a confirmed reservation, they should contact Call Japan as soon as possible. Changes or cancellations that require Call Japan to contact the restaurant may require an additional service fee. Call Japan will inform the customer before beginning additional paid assistance where an additional Call Japan service fee applies.
Restaurants may impose their own cancellation, late cancellation, no-show, deposit, or other charges. These charges are separate from the Call Japan service fee and are the customer’s responsibility.
8. Refunds
A full refund may be provided if the customer cancels the Call Japan request before we begin contacting the restaurant.
Once Call Japan has begun contacting the restaurant, the service fee is generally non-refundable, including where the restaurant is fully booked, the requested time is unavailable, the restaurant declines or does not accept reservations, the restaurant cannot be reached after reasonable attempts, or incorrect/incomplete customer information prevents completion.
If Call Japan is unable to perform the service due to circumstances on our side before reasonable attempts to contact the restaurant have been made, a full refund may be provided. See our Cancellation & Refund Policy.
9. Special Requests and Dietary Requirements
Call Japan may communicate reasonable special requests to the restaurant, including seating preferences and dietary requirements. However, Call Japan cannot guarantee that a restaurant will accept, understand, or safely accommodate any special request.
For food allergies, Call Japan only communicates the information provided by the customer and does not independently verify ingredients, preparation methods, cross-contamination risks, or the restaurant’s ability to safely accommodate an allergy. Customers with serious or life-threatening allergies should confirm their requirements directly with the restaurant.
10. Customer Information
To provide the service, Call Japan may share information necessary for the reservation with the selected restaurant, such as the reservation name, date and time, party size, seating requests, dietary or allergy information, and other information reasonably necessary to process the reservation.
By submitting a reservation request and providing the required consent, the customer authorizes Call Japan to provide such necessary information to the selected restaurant. Personal information will otherwise be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
11. Restaurant Policies
Customers are responsible for complying with the restaurant’s rules and policies, including arrival times, cancellation policies, dress codes, age restrictions, minimum orders, deposits, course requirements, and other conditions imposed by the restaurant.
12. No-Shows and Late Arrivals
Customers are responsible for arriving at the restaurant on time. Call Japan is not responsible if a restaurant cancels, modifies, or refuses to honor a reservation because the customer arrives late or fails to appear. Any charges resulting from a late arrival or no-show are the customer’s responsibility.
13. Prohibited Use
Customers may not use Call Japan for fraudulent reservations, false identities, harassment, unlawful activities, intentionally misleading requests, or any other misuse of the service. Call Japan may refuse or discontinue service where we reasonably believe a request is fraudulent, abusive, unlawful, or otherwise inappropriate.
14. Limitation of Responsibility
Call Japan provides reservation assistance but does not operate or control restaurants. To the extent permitted by applicable law, Call Japan is not responsible for acts or omissions of restaurants, including changes to opening hours, menu availability, food quality, service, reservation policies, cancellations by the restaurant, or other matters outside Call Japan’s reasonable control.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by applicable law.
15. Changes to These Terms
Call Japan may update these Terms when necessary. The latest version will be published on the Call Japan website with the date of the most recent update.
